On-site help at EURAXESS Service Centres
Incoming researchers have the possibility to visit the EURAXESS Service Centre at their research institution. The Service Centre staff is ready to advice them about general work-related issues such as social security and taxes, but it also provides help in family matters (child care, schooling) as well as information about accommodation, health insurance and language courses at the university.

Plans and strategic steps
EURAXESS Services is in steady development. The aim is to serve the researchers' needs for information and assistance in the best way possible. To foster improvements EURAXESS Switzerland takes part in the thorough best practise exchange with colleagues within the network throughout Europe. The recently published manual - specifically dedicated for EURAXESS staff - is a testimonial for this.
On the European scale, plans are elaborated to support measures on the policy level as well. The EURAXESS European network engages in facilitating immigration procedures for researchers from countries outside the EU/EEA/EFTA area (so-called third countries) by means of the EU Scientific Visa (not applicable in Switzerland). Another initiative is the conception of a pan-European pension fund. Researchers that have moved during their career should not lose any of the pension claims that they acquired in separate countries.
