Doctoral candidates and postdocs: How to proceed if you want to apply for a Sciex research stay?
To apply for Sciex you must be a doctoral candidate or a postdoc at an eligible institution in your home country.
Sciex finances research stays; Sciex is not a study grant.
Fellowship Application
- The Supervisor of a doctoral candidate or the mentor of a PostDoc, the potential Fellow and a research partner in Switzerland agree on an exchange project (Note: For a partnership with a Swiss University, you can find a Swiss partner on www.proff.ch. Otherwise, consult the website of the respective eligible Swiss Host Institutions.).
- The Supervisor checks whether the sending institution is eligible and whether it agrees to a research placement of the potential Fellow.
- The Swiss partner agrees on becoming a "Host Mentor" for the Sciex Fellow. The Swiss Host Mentor is the Main Applicant (see G-1 : Guidelines for Main Applicants, PDF) in a Sciex Fellowship Application.
- The Swiss partner checks whether his Swiss institution is eligible and whether it has signed a Performance Agreement.
- The Main Applicant coordinates the filling in of the forms « F-1 », « F-2a », « F-2b »,
« F-3a », « F-3b » plus annexes. - The supervisor fills in « F-2a » and sends it to the Main Applicant.
- The Junior Researcher "Fellow" fills in « F-1 » & « T-2 » and sends them to the Main Applicant.
- The sending Institution fills in form « F-3a », sends a scan to the main applicant and the original form with signature to CRUS – Sciex-3, Postbox 607 – CH-3000 Bern 9.
(Postal address for courier service: CRUS - Sennweg 2 - CH-3012 Bern) - The Host Institution fills in form « F-3b » and sends a scan to the main applicant and the original form with signature to CRUS – Sciex-3, Postbox 607 – CH-3000 Bern 9.
(Postal address for courier service: CRUS - Sennweg 2 - CH-3012 Bern) - If all forms are complete, correct and precise, the Main Applicant sends them in one mail to sciex(at)crus.ch, with the reference line "Sciex Proposal Forms".
- Sciex will notify the Main Applicant about the decision of the Steering Committee.
- The Main Applicant will contact the Charter & Code Supporter of his/her institution for Contractual Arrangements.
